Semi-random Views Of Lubbock

Driving around but in familiar territory.

Work continues on the "Metro Tower", or whatever they are calling this thing.

Reagor Dykes! That turned into a sad story. Their downfall would really have disappointed my wife. She believed in the integrity of business men. I don't. I never have. I never will.
The Federal Building. I have some nice memories of this place.
This is just more of what you expect to find downtown.
Next, the old power plant downtown, long abandoned, and views of the Marsha Sharp Freeway! This is the last time for me, as far as these things are concerned-- no reason to ever return.

More Of The Lubbock Not Seen

At least, these areas are seen only by those who work there or have business there.

I like this stuff-- WE liked this stuff.

Obscure and out of the way places.

We always wished we could get behind the fences. I guess I could come back and lift the camera above the fences. Surely that would not be trespassing.

More Locations Crossed Off My List

Never again will I photograph any of these places. I'll never revisit any of these places.

This area was usually a fertile ground for the kinds of pics I like to take.

Solo drives are never going to feel good. I guess I'm trying to recapture whatever memories I can, but it is certainly bittersweet.

Still not done with these views of Lubbock. I've got about five more installments of this stuff before we move on to New Braunfels, Texas. I took a lot of pics there.

Driving Around Lubbock

If you really narrow your focus, there's an endless amount of stuff to photograph.

I guess someday I will get back to places like Spur and Ropesville and Brownfield and Anton and Crosbyton and Slaton and so on, but probably not soon.

To get the pics above I waded through weeds and got grass spurs all over me. Took forever to pick them all off. But that finished this location. Then I moved on to another location my wife and I visited. And that's the last time I will visit THAT location.

I'm slowly crossing things off of my list. More of Lubbock next time.

Re-examining Some Lubbock Locations

Again, these are areas I visited with my wife, and places where we found good material for this blog. I got back recently from New Braunfels, Texas and will have pictures from that site when I finish this Lubbock series.

I think I can cross this location off of my list of places to re-visit.

I used this location a lot. I always found interesting things to photograph here.

It isn't exactly painful to do these photo drives anymore, but I can't say that it feels good either. More sad than not. I have a lot more Lubbock stuff to get through before I ever make it to New Braunfels. I took a lot of photos there.
