A Coin-op Laundry In New Home

Yes, we looked at and photographed all kinds of things around here, in the Lubbock area.

This might be the hottest social gathering place in New Home. Folks could sit around and trade conspiracy theories and talk about guns, for instance. Who knows what you do when you live in New Home. One can only speculate. At least we know now that you can do laundry.

In a town like this, one can imagine a lot of very ardent Trump supporters: armed, dangerous, and ready to love their country to death. Literally. Then again, I might be stereotyping. I can only tell you this: if I lived in New Home I would be desperate to live elsewhere. That's just my opinion. At least, we know you can do your laundry there. That is now an established fact.

Let't take a look at something else we've seen before.

For some reason I found the evolution of our backyard garden fascinating. There are still a few sunflowers left, but they are in bad shape and I left them to serve as winter habitat for birds. I've taken to leaving out generous amounts of wild bird feed. I've managed to keep some of the more interesting birds we attracted during the summer hanging around during the winter. This summer they'll have a lot more sunflowers to enjoy. If I live long enough, most of the backyard will be garden. One advantage to that: there's less lawn to mow. And I can plant things that don't require a lot of water.
And now I just have some more Lubbock scenes.

Briefly, the playa lakes were pretty full. Not any more. Serious drought going on.

Next time it'll be more ruins and wrecks and dumped mattresses and furniture and views from the boonies.

Going Elsewhere And Finding More Stuff Around Lubbock

Even when we returned to places we'd examined before, we always found changes, and sometimes new things to photograph.

But I don't remember where we found whatever it is I photographed above. I can't even tell you what it IS!

But now we are at Coyote Candle Company again.

There's always something interesting out there.

Next stop will be New Home, and while there we actually entered their laundromat! And we took photos there! Of a laundry in New Home, Texas! I'll have more stuff in a few days. I'd actually like to do several updates per week. I've taken some solo shots. I'm trying to get used to doing things solo, since that's the way it must be, now. Accept and learn to live with the things I can't change.

Close-ups Of Junk

I really don't know what else to call this-- we drove to a location on South University that almost never fails to let me down, in terms of all the junk out there to photograph, and I got some great shots.

And even if these are not great shots, we can all agree that this is great stuff.

Can it get much better than this?

This is frozen history. You can look at this and infer the history of the universe, forward and backward. And it actually has human significance. No, it does not get much better than this.
 Oooo!

Ahhh!

We are now in regions of Truth and Beauty. For sure.
And next time we will try something else, more contrived, but no less real.
