Cloudy and somewhat humid and cool and showers should begin late tonight. Not bad, really. It's nice and seasonal-- it FEELS like October should.
It even LOOKS like October! There is the proper ambience.
This blog is an ARTISTIC regional photo journal. I focus on mundane scenes. ANY AND ALL STATEMENTS I MAKE HERE ARE MY OPINONS ONLY! I OFFER NOTHING WHATSOEVER AS A STATEMENT OF FACT! The photographs are offered as ARTISTIC EXPRESSION ONLY! They are not representative of anything other than themselves. Most of the places mentioned here have surely changed substantially since they were visited. Check my list of recommended sites at the bottom of this blog!

But not uncomfortable and now we have a norther inching in, bringing clouds and cooler temperatures and soon we will have a few morning lows only a little above freezing. Am I ready for winter? Ready or not, it is coming. I hope it will be MILD. Good chances of rain coming up, and that will be welcome. I suppose I am as well-prepared as I can be.
Hot tomorrow as well, but then another front. Rain chances. Cool mornings persist. Rain chances increase next week. Nice enough October. Comfortable evenings. Mosquitoes really bad. Nothing new around here. I think I've done all the clearing I plan to do and now will maintain things as they are. I'm noticing that things on the web are being "optimized" for "smart phones". I don't like that at all, abjuring and reviling smart phones as I do. Moron bait, in my opinion. So happy to have no need of one, or use for one. And I'm finding that 4G isn't worth shit if you live in a house with steel siding, and steel doors in steel frames, as I do. It's almost like a Faraday cage. Don't forget the metal mesh window screens. 3G was no problem. 4G doesn't work well in such an environment.
It's Ray Bradbury season. And I like it just fine, though much has changed since I discovered Ray Bradbury. We all live in an ugly dystopia that not even the most hardened science fiction writers could have imagined, except for Philip K. Dick, who got it right on so many levels. We are not yet in ANIMAL FARM or 1984 territory, but we are getting there rather rapidly. In times like these it's good to be old and on the sidelines. Let the "higher apes" do their thing and hope to be safely dead before they completely destroy all that is or ever was good.
Cool but not what I would consider cold this morning. Plenty of sunshine and the wind is light. It all feels very seasonal and the conditions are perfect for October. Temps are on a very gentle down/up cycle. Could hit 80 F next week, but mornings remain sweater comfortable for those with thinner blood than mine, and another norther, not a very strong one, will bring milder temps again and rain chances, although the playa lakes still look very good.
