No Snow Overnight

 Plenty of sunshine today and not so cold. 

I am so happy to have no need for a "smart" phone. Therefore, I have no "smart" phone. I rather like an old-fashioned landline. Therefore, I have an old-fashioned landline. 

A Little Snow

Unless we get a LOT more snow later, this isn't much of a snow event. Not enough overnight to cover the ground, and a lot of that has melted as temps inch their way above freezing. Is it just my imagination or are the clouds thinning. It is a good thing I had nothing to do outside today and had no need to go anywhere. 

 I'd have been happier with no snow at all. 

No Snow

 Tomorrow will be our last chance at snow from this "event" and if we get any it isn't likely to be over an inch, if any at all. Not extremely cold at night but the darned cloud cover keeps us below freezing much of the day. I'd like to see that change soon. Has it been worse? Oh yes, it has been much worse. I really detest that polar vortex garbage, the cliched bomb cyclone drek, and the rest of that winter crap. By this time, more daylight is evident. More time in the sun if the clouds would ever clear. 

I'm filling bird feeders two to three times per day. By the way, I was delighted to learn that vasectomies and tubal ligations are way up, in the wake of anti-abortion fanaticism. Way to go! Those procedures should be offered free of charge in every state with restrictive abortion laws. Let's have more and better and cheaper and more widely available contraception. Fuck paternalism, fuck male dominance. Fuck "gods" with male genitalia. Piss on the Big Three. Of course, I refer to the Big Three automakers! Hahahah.

Cold Wind Blowing Dust

 The ten day forecasts are all over the map. National Weather Service does not agree with the local forecasts. Lots of uncertainty about snow. Par for the course. Moderately sunny but the wind makes it uncomfortable. The wind should be diminishing and we aren't looking at any record lows. Maybe a little below average for the date, and the dewpoints are quite low. I'll just have to see what develops. 

Cold Week Ahead

 No single digits and high temps well above freezing and only small chances of snow flurries, so it won't really be that bad. I feel like we are dodging a bullet here. Has it been worse? You bet. In any case my pantry is well stocked and everything is winterized. I hope this cold spell will be the worst we see this winter. 

January dust storms wouldn't bother me at all. Better dust and dirt than snow and ice.
