The storm system moved in from the west and dumped quite a lot of rain, but now we are about to enjoy a spell of dry air and sunshine and very warm temps, which will be welcome after so much soaking.
If anybody is going to have a cotton crop, or corn, or even sunflowers, they ought to have more than adequate soil moisture. I miss the days when sunflowers were grown west of town, in areas that have been turned into sterile strip malls and tracts of housing. Truly, I detest growth. I'm so happy that there's not much of that going on in my part of town. May it ever be thus.
