But it is warming rapidly. It could be like this into mid-September. And maybe beyond. Well, I remember hot weather into the middle of October back in 1976. I thought we'd never get any relief.
No migratory birds have appeared yet. The FAA's remote ID requirement will take effect soon. I've decided to retire my two non-exempt aircraft. They've had many good flights. I've got eight good planes that do not require registration or remote ID and I will be happy flying them. I don't do quadcopters or anything that I would consider a "drone". The FAA is not familiar with the types of things RC hobbyists fly. My stuff is all traditional fixed wing and mostly powered gliders. I do not think that the "drone" label applies to things like that. But I took the TRUST course, passed, got a UAS pilot certificate. All my documentation is protected in plastic sleeves and in my car, always ready to display to anyone who might be curious. Pre and post flight checklists. AMA safety rules, etc. AMA membership card. I've gone above and beyond to be compliant. But I still worry about the psycho "Karens" who might be hopped up on paranoid ideation about a drone menace. You can be a guy and still be a Karen, you know. Life would be much better without so many idiots running around.
