Very Hot!

Off to a warm start today! I got some outdoor work done early, to avoid the heat to come.

Looks like it'll be a rough July, but yesterday's rain was terrific. I took a little drive in it to exercise my windshield wipers. HA! The playa lakes are still looking good, and despite the heat, the recent rains have kept everything green.

Lots Of Rain!

It rained quite a lot over the nighttime and early morning hours but it looks as though conditions will be very hot and very humid for several days. Unusual. Tropical conditions are not the norm for us, at all. It'll be uncomfortable but I can see the likelihood of much more rain during this period.

I'm not quite sure how much stock to put in forecasts though. Strange changes seem to be the norm. I ventured into the hinterlands yesterday. It was a pleasant drive but I saw a lot of evidence of psychosis among the people living out there. I won't go into details, but various signage signified loss of contact with reality. I guess loonies and the boonies go well together. Too much meth? I really don't know...

Cool This Morning!

So nice! My windows are open, and will be for a few hours yet, as I try to empty yesterdays' heat, which really wasn't so bad, but I like the fresh air. Always good to have the windows open.

Nice Enough Morning

Very pleasant this morning! Some rain chances remain. It won't be especially hot today. A breeze helps. I finished GALACTIC POT-HEALER. What a read. I'm back to the Sue Grafton. Getting close to the end on those.

My little struggle with depression continues. I refuse to become a Prozac zombie. I tried "medication" many years ago. It was horrible. It was worse than the depression. Apart from that, I detest shrinks. For some reason, that profession seems to attract people with the sorts of personality disorders that would have placed them in positions of authority in death camps, and they would have been very happy in such an environment. They would have thrived.

It Rained!

It rained in the afternoon and it rained overnight, and it was enough to nourish all the green things that the late Bob Ross was so concerned about, all the "little doers" in nature. Ah, Bob Ross! Ah the Little Doers!

For over twenty years every day, for me, has been a vacation. I abandoned the "world of work" very early and I have not missed it, ever. That's what you can do, if you save and save, and live the simple life, and avoid the common traps. I've been married twice, the first one was a business deal, to some extent, but more than satisfactory and it ended well in a rational manner. I wouldn't have entered into that arrangement if I had not loved the woman and her family. Marriage number two was late in life and it was my true marriage-- and even though my wife has passed away, that true marriage goes on, on another plane of being. She is still my life partner and there will be no other.
