Plenty HOT in Texas

Bit mining operations in Texas need to be SHUT DOWN NOW! In fact, I would very much like to see all of the various "bitcoins" outlawed and all bitcoin transactions becoming felony offenses. Bitcoin is the delight of money launderers and Dark Web lowlife. You know what I mean: pedophiles and drug dealers and sex traffickers. Terrorists, too? I can't help but suspect that ASSHOLE ABBOT cares not at all for the health, safety, and well-being of Texans--- of any age or gender. Money and power is what it's all about for right-wing politicians in this state-- in ANY state. Especially, they groove on power over women. They must really hate and despise women. In fact, they are scared shitless of any woman with power and brains. Keep 'em barefoot, pregnant, and in chains, is their motto. Abbot, Paxton, Patrick-- perfect examples of greedy, power-hungry, sexist lowlife. If it wasn't for the existence of shit, they'd have no brains at all. Just my opinion.

But maybe the relentless heat is making me a tad irritable.

Foliage

Foliage in advance of another wave of sunflowers. Let's not forget the social sciences, or medical science. Science rules them all. What do we get from psychopathic trash like the Putins and Trumps and Hitlers and Stalins of this world? Nothing but chaos and destruction. Compared to those who are able to create and discover, they are lower than dogshit in the scheme of things. I read a very good book in my childhood-- "Science, Art, Mathematics". SAM. It was a very fortunate discovery in the local library. I should try to find a copy somewhere for the sake of nostalgia. I'm big on nostalgia.

Science, art, mathematics-- these disciplines are the core of any civilization worthy of the name. They are the core of any life worth living.

105 F In Lubbock Yesterday

The Texas power grid is strained to the max. Asshole Abbot's power grid. Greed rules and the people of this state suffer. Throw the SOB out, along with Ken "shit-for-brains" Paxton and that other asswipe whose name always escapes me. Dan Cowpat? Something like that. Anyway, this morning a cool breeze from the North and it won't be quite so hot. But global warming is real, record highs and megadroughts are only the beginning. Lake Mead is almost gone and the Colorado River is drying up, and the impact on food availability and food prices will be severe. Not to mention the power grid. Bad times are on the way, and it was all avoidable. If intellect trumped greed and ignorance it wouldn't be like this. But what can you expect from morons with guns and a touch of psychosis? FUBAR.

The SCIENTISTS and ENGINEERS who worked on the Webb telescope are what humans SHOULD be. All hail scientists of every variety: Geologists, Astronomers, Physicists, Biologists; scientists in every field of human endeavor. The many pseudo-scientists out there, and the ignorant, malignant, opinion hawkers on right wing media, can go in the trash pile. Screw the Facebook nuts, the "influencers", and all the other cancerous growths thriving on social media. Hey, I'm a science guy, and I'm proud of it.

They're ready. I'm getting there. Step by step...

No sunflowers today but I'm sneaking up on them-heh-heh. Still lots of close-ups of the other things I like so well, too. Sunflowers will burst on the scene soon enough.

Sunflowers Eventually

 Still not ready. But...

I used to know a guy who would say: "Life is good", ad nauseum. Smug and shallow SOB. Every time he said that I felt like smashing his face. Well, that was years ago. By this time it's entirely possible that reality smashed his face. Smug and shallow are two things I greatly despise.

More Sunflowers Not Yet

No, not yet. But Memory Lane is still open.

Skulking around in odd places and taking pictures of what we found was fun.

And we liked the various festivals in small towns around Lubbock, especially Floydada and Petersburg. We liked to go elsewhere and sample July 4th celebrations in places other than Lubbock.
