Sunflowers 24

I can't quite get through the winter with this, but I think I can get into the early stages before I run out of sunflowers. Sooner or later I'll have some Lubbock funky alleys again. Some piles of trash and interesting junk and other stuff like that. Temps fairly mild today and the next few days but cloudy. No rain, of course.

I completed a bit of simplification today, finally. The process turned out to me more complicated than I thought it would be, but it's done. Briefly, I cancelled one of my credit cards. This simplifies financial record keeping. I never carry a balance but I didn't like the website on this one. They made it very hard to see all the charges in a billing cycle, and that made it hard to check for unauthorized charges. Plus, they switched my billing preferences without my knowledge or approval. And their customer service was poor. Reason enough to drop it.

Sunflowers 23

Somewhat cool and breezy this morning! Plenty of sunshine, though.

I kind of struggle with meeting nutritional requirements for the weight training I do, because I just never have an appetite. It's been like that for many years. I eat because I must, and rarely because I am actually hungry. I recall, as a child, regarding meals as an ordeal I had to get through. Sometimes I've got a kind of craving for some particular thing, like pizza, or a cheeseburger and fries, or a monster omelet, but that doesn't happen very often. Protein shakes are essential for me. They fill the void. They are easily and quickly consumed, and that's that. Eating is pretty gross when you think about it. I try not to.

Sunflowers 22

Same story: a nice day on tap but another free beer seems unlikely. And that's OK! I have lots of wine.

I have been thinking about ways to simplify my life even more. Sometimes less really is more. Less complication equates to a better life, I think.

Sunflowers 21

Looks like another nice day, but still dry. A nice lady yesterday gave me a free beer from her case of Shiner Christmas Cheer, in the parking lot of a supermarket because I asked her what it tasted like. I'd seen her ahead of me in the checkout and we had a brief conversation about Shiner beer in general. So I drank it, and it was pretty good-- one of those special seasonal beers Shiner is known for. Too late to sample the October Fest beers, as they are all sold out. Maybe next year?

I wonder if you could brew a beer using sunflowers...

Sunflowers 20

 George Carlin Abortion

How about a little common sense? Cut through the crap, eh? Tell it like it is? You bet.

And how about some more Sunflower?

It's going to be crazy warm today.
