Starting to, anyway. Eventually I'll be looking at houses in New Braunfels, old and historic and mostly restored. But not just yet.
This blog is an ARTISTIC regional photo journal. I focus on mundane scenes. ANY AND ALL STATEMENTS I MAKE HERE ARE MY OPINONS ONLY! I OFFER NOTHING WHATSOEVER AS A STATEMENT OF FACT! The photographs are offered as ARTISTIC EXPRESSION ONLY! They are not representative of anything other than themselves. Most of the places mentioned here have surely changed substantially since they were visited. Check my list of recommended sites at the bottom of this blog!

More New Braunfels
It was a very rain drenched experience this time, and uncomfortably chilly. Freak weather is becoming the new norm. Tornado warnings and alerts east of San Antonio. Hail stones the size of Texas Ruby Red grapefruit in some areas. Lots of wind and hail damage and localized flooding.
Lubbock used to get weather like that, but lately we have been more of a bone-dry and wind swept desert. I continue with the microcosmic views.

New Braunfels
First, I want the small picture. Details.
Is it not the little things that really count? Is it not the case that all the action in the universe is REALLY at the quantum scale? The world we think we live in is not the real world at all, but a very fuzzy and coarsely-grained image, grossly blurred, of the underlying reality.

Last Of Lubbock For A While
After this we'll be in New Braunfels. There are some good things about Lubbock. For instance, it isn't a tourist trap or vacation destination. There aren't many attractions. It's flat and the streets are laid out in an orderly fashion. Traffic is reasonable. Buddy Holly was born here, and lived here. He's buried here. As far as I'm concerned, Buddy Holly and his classmates are the only reason for Lubbock to have ever existed. Buddy Holly and his Lubbock High School classmates (LHS Class of '55) are the only people Lubbock has any reason to be proud of. The rest, like Preston Smith and some scumbag preacher who's name escapes me, can be forgotten. LHS Class of '55 forever. The rest don't count. So there.
It follows from what I said above, that I don't count either. I'm OK with that. To be a non-entity is not at all a bad thing. I rather like it. It's the next best thing to non-existence.
