It's all in the details, as I've said before.

This blog is an ARTISTIC regional photo journal. I focus on mundane scenes. ANY AND ALL STATEMENTS I MAKE HERE ARE MY OPINONS ONLY! I OFFER NOTHING WHATSOEVER AS A STATEMENT OF FACT! The photographs are offered as ARTISTIC EXPRESSION ONLY! They are not representative of anything other than themselves. Most of the places mentioned here have surely changed substantially since they were visited. Check my list of recommended sites at the bottom of this blog!
It was a very rain drenched experience this time, and uncomfortably chilly. Freak weather is becoming the new norm. Tornado warnings and alerts east of San Antonio. Hail stones the size of Texas Ruby Red grapefruit in some areas. Lots of wind and hail damage and localized flooding.
First, I want the small picture. Details.
After this we'll be in New Braunfels. There are some good things about Lubbock. For instance, it isn't a tourist trap or vacation destination. There aren't many attractions. It's flat and the streets are laid out in an orderly fashion. Traffic is reasonable. Buddy Holly was born here, and lived here. He's buried here. As far as I'm concerned, Buddy Holly and his classmates are the only reason for Lubbock to have ever existed. Buddy Holly and his Lubbock High School classmates (LHS Class of '55) are the only people Lubbock has any reason to be proud of. The rest, like Preston Smith and some scumbag preacher who's name escapes me, can be forgotten. LHS Class of '55 forever. The rest don't count. So there.
