And More New

Torrents of rain and tornado warnings in New Braunfels while I was there. I thought I might be stranded by flooding. In some areas near San Antonio, hail stones the size of Texas Ruby Red Grapefruit!

Various things tend to reinforce my view, that human existence is a non-stop clusterfuck shit storm. Being born is the greatest misfortune imaginable.

More New

Recently I got many New Braunfels pics. But I'll finish these first.

Easter detritus. Rather sad.

Drinking After Moderna

I was very cautious after my first Moderna shot, but after the second one, which was around 3 pm, I decided to have a glass of wine later that evening, a cabernet, and I had no problems. Of course, I did the weights that morning and the next morning with no issues. But I think it would be wise to NOT do that. Around the end of this month, I will probably try eating out, if I can find a place with some distancing precautions in effect. It's been so long since I've been to a restaurant...

I doubt that I have any sort of natural immunity to Covid, but I AM immune to trumpism, that fatal brain disease so many have caught. I'm thankful for that!

More New Pics

And I hope to have many, many, more sometime soon. Meanwhile. consider what's happening in India right now as a vision of what the USA would be like, if tRump had gained a second term.

The scariest thing about the video I posted last time is that devices like that would not be very hard to do. The AI is not so advanced that these "slaughterbots" are in any way thinking. It's just a set of adaptable target strategies, easily within reach by mid-century. Or maybe even in the next five years. I don't think humanity has NO future-- I just have reason to believe that the future will be hellish. It's good to be old!

Good old house. Its best days are long gone.

New Pics

Right now I'm still working on the last batch, all taken in Lubbock at various places. This morning I got some pics of the newly completed Buddy Holly Hall of the Performing Arts and Sciences. I need to go back and get a lot more, since it is possible to do a complete walk-around. It does not seem to be entirely complete though, some stuff on the architectural drawing is not present. A few features might have been deleted. Meanwhile: would you like to have a good nightmare?

I like it that it is picture taking weather again. I really enjoy using my cameras. I have three and they are good for all occasions. They range from professional and rather bulky to pocket size and basic but they all have perfectly good image quality for any reasonable use, up to poster sized prints, which I have not done. In the early days I thought in terms of the Lubbock Art Festival but everything there is really conventional and I don't do conventional subjects, most of the time. I can't imagine anybody wanting a wall sized portrait of a gas meter surrounded by weeds and trash. At least, nobody around here.
