Still Among The Sunflowers

They don't look like much anymore.

Viewer discretion advised! This sort of thing makes Lubbock law enforcement very upset. In fact, this sort of thing upsets a lot of our citizens. At least these bugs are not drinking alcoholic beverages...

I still need to process the new alley pics.

By the way, I read this morning that 50,000,000 Facebook accounts have been hacked. Ho hum. Don't have one of those accounts. Never have had a Facebook account. To those who spend their lives on Facebook, I suggest getting a REAL life, if you even know what that is.

I'll finish the sunflowers next time.

Back To The Garden

Actually, this is garden number two. The rose garden is still doing well. But number two, with the sunflowers and wild stuff, is really in decline and won't be photographed again, unless I focus on the birds who still visit that garden.

I managed to get a few birds this time, too.

My wife enjoyed this garden a lot, since it is visible from her office and it borders the patio. It was my little plot of land, to do with as I pleased, and I wanted to make it semi-wild. It's never been the same from year to year.

It took hours of back-breaking work to dig out Bermuda grass to make this garden. If I want to increase its size by another 40% or so it'll take even more hours of hard labor. If I do that, I'll do it with hand tools again, the primitive way.

I'll finish this next time.

Let's Finish That Alley

And then, next time, more sunflowers from our garden, and after that yet another commercial alley behind yet another old shopping "strip mall" I guess you would call it. The next alley will be one we visited even earlier in our relationship. At that time I think I was considering specializing in alleys. Well, alleys are interesting, but there's a lot more than that around here to photograph.

It's always nice to have a little door for the rats to run in and out.

A lot of this looked familiar.

It's always nice to have a place for the rain to come in.

It's always nice to have some wires around.

What I am showing here are the somewhat unsightly backsides of "mom & pop" style businesses.

And here is a small glimpse of the frontside of one of those businesses. That's a good place to finish this series.
