This is just another series of pics-- when I'm finally done with my impressionistic stuff, you'll get a sense of what a town like this is like. Floydada impressed me as a pleasant place. And if you need a lot of data about Floyd, this is sure the place to go. Well, no...
As you can see, I'm torn between color and black & white renderings. I like them both, to tell you the truth.
Another bundle of pics from the Pumpkin Nexus:
Eventually, you will see pumpkins. But not soon.
No, the Floydada Pumpkins is not the name of a high school football team. Actually, the little town of Floydada puts on an annual Pumpkin Festival! They have a parade, and a street fair, with lots of food and the event attracts a lot of people from this area. This time it attracted us! My wife and I visited and looked the place over. We had some good tamales and popcorn. I took a lot of pics, not all of them were of pumpkins.
And the local high school football team is named the Whirlwinds. I see nothing wrong with something like Killer Pumpkins, though. As usual, I will post the "impressionistic" stuff first:
And here are a few more-- I've got lots of pics and will spread them over several days!
Let's have more pics of Lubbock!
I was amazed to see a field of corn. Cotton is the norm.
... but it's a waste of my time and energy. Other people do that much better. I've got links at the bottom of this page, to sites that do a much better job than I can of ranting, and explaining the obvious. Instead, I'd just like to put up more pics I've taken around town. I've got a mix of color photos and black & white.
I'll have more of these in future posts. I like to think that my photos go straight to the heart of things. You might ask: "What things??" That's a reasonable question. I'd tell you the answer, except that I really despise metaphysics.
