These are all in my favorite part of town.
This blog is an ARTISTIC regional photo journal. I focus on mundane scenes. ANY AND ALL STATEMENTS I MAKE HERE ARE MY OPINONS ONLY! I OFFER NOTHING WHATSOEVER AS A STATEMENT OF FACT! The photographs are offered as ARTISTIC EXPRESSION ONLY! They are not representative of anything other than themselves. Most of the places mentioned here have surely changed substantially since they were visited. Check my list of recommended sites at the bottom of this blog!
... of exceptionally mild weather for this season, and I like that very much. The seasonal norms are not bad at all, and we continue to stick with that regime. Let the really nasty stuff stay to the north, and to the east, and stay away from this area. One can hope. It could be so much worse, and that always bothers me, the fact that circumstances could always be so much worse. I had an appliance conk out recently. That was a drag. A replacement is on the way, however. But I can do without that sort of hassle. For a long time I've felt very vulnerable, as though on a knife edge. I can never shake that feeling. It's very uncomfortable.
I want things back to normal ASAP! My gym is still closed the day after? What the hell is the excuse for that?? Perpetual damn holiday?? It's OVER, damn it. And we still have damned New Year's to get through. How I hate this season. How I loathe this season.
Just what we needed. No hail, no high winds, no snow, no ice, and no nonsense, but just a good rain. And now the rain is over and it is sunny and it will not be especially cold, either. This December is far better than most, and I guess we can thank El Nino for it. The cotton farmers might actually have adequate soil moisture for a change.
But NOT getting especially cold, and rain chances pick up. No white Christmas. I like it. No snow. Forget snow. Maybe a few light snow showers around New Year's Eve. I hate that dumb holiday. I'm always happy when it's all over. Slush out New Year's. Kill the celebrations.
Terrific indeed, but not in the sense of inducing terror, but rather amazement at the pleasant conditions continuing day after day. So fine. Rain chances eventually, and still no snow in prospect.
Especially when you consider the time of year, a much better weekend weather pattern would be hard to imagine. Nothing really much in the nature of an ARCTIC BLAST! BOMB CYCLONE! POLAR VORTEX! seems to be immanent. Not even a POLAR POTATO! That's nice.
We could have pretty decent weather right into the end of December, unless something unexpected happens. The rain was fairly decent. We only got about half-an-inch but other areas around here got a lot more. And there are more rain chances next week, with temps above freezing, so no snow or ice. I hope that turns out to be the case.
