Off To The Airport

There's a residential area across Regis Street that is worth exploring. We examined it several times.

Of course, there are abandoned buildings. This is a good one.

I don't think it was ever a residence but it might have been a garage. That's just a guess. That would have been a long time ago.
There might be some interesting history here.
And then I moved on and located the scene of a recent cotton warehouse fire. It was still smoldering. Cotton burns forever, it seems. There was a firetruck and crew still on the scene, and it smelled pretty bad.

We are not finished. I took a lot of photos, and the best is yet to come.

More Of That Good Lubbock Stuff

We are getting into areas my wife and I liked to explore.

Smatterings of light industry with a few residences in the mix, and not very prosperous.

Not a lot going on.

After this, I visited a residential area near the airport. That was another one of our favorite places to visit.

More Lubbock Wilderness

It's some of the best of Lubbock, some of the only really interesting things in Lubbock.
 Great alley!

Got brakes?

Then I moved on, to other areas of interest.
 Terrific lawn ornament!
 Telephoto.

Great fence.

It gets better and better. Some folks might think I am being sarcastic, but no. This is what I like.
And it goes on, and gets even better...

New Pics From The Wilds Of Lubbock

Some of these places we visited together, but some are new.
I've wanted to photograph this place for years but had to wait until they were out of business, defunct as the pigeon I found on their parking lot.

They had deals, and they had brakes.

They had a lot of pigeons when I was out there, roosting in the trees.

More from this location next time! I've got Christmas pictures on the agenda, too.
