July 4th, 2017, In Lubbock, Texas

Actually, a few days before and a few days after, but centered on July 4th. What I photographed were not so much the events but the preparations for the events, and then the aftermath of the events. And some personal stuff, like our garden, which did well this summer.

These were preparations for the big street dance.

But it got rained out!

When we took these pics, it did not look very threatening.

It was very hot and very humid!

Downtown Lubbock.
Verrrry patriotic... we turned our attention to McKenzie Park, where there was a HUGE fireworks extravaganza planned, with live music!! We will look at that next time I update.

Back In Lubbock, Skulking Around Town

Checking out more odd, and out-of-the-way places.

This is only a few miles from where we live! We are rather close to the boonies.

We really hate to see areas like this "developed".

We'd like to preserve urban decay.

Folks with anti-social tendencies and various personality disorders need places to live, too.

The areas we like to photograph are good places to be crazy in, just as some other places might be good places to raise your kids up in. But why couldn't you raise up your kids in places that are also good to be crazy in? Answer that.

Imagine what it might be like to live among ruins like these.

The folks who live out here are probably very interesting!

People out here have some collectible cars, even though they are not in running condition. But they let their old cars rust away. They are probably not very materialistic.

Don't tread on me! You find a lot of Texicans out here, ready to secede. Just give them the rallying cry!
