Gloomy Wet Cloudy

 No heavy rains, just light drizzle, foggy mist, and clouds but the rest of this month is looking quite good. Very good, in fact. I've surveyed the yard in back and it seems to me that nothing is left but detail work and routine maintenance. That's OK with me. Maybe I'll think of something else to do back there, some innovation of some sort. Whatever. I have not heard much about any raptures lately. The revised date came and went with the usual failure. But a brand new end times cult seems to be forming. Cults seem to be a dime a dozen. Some are quite dangerous but most are only destructive to the poor folks who get drawn into one. A long time ago I dated a women who claimed to have escaped from a cult but she seemed to be looking for another one. What scared me was when she said I reminded her of that cult's leader. Oh no. I believe she ended up in Colorado and got into mystical healing via electronic music. I introduced her to electronic music by playing for her one of my own compositions. I hope that worked out well for her. She was a nice lady. 

Maybe she became the leader of her very own cult. 

No Mass Shooting

 Not here, that I am aware of, but I have not checked the local news yet. I ventured forth to get something from Home Depot and right away had to make way for an ambulance. And then more sirens while I departed Home Depot. People get all hopped up on Homecoming football mania and drive fast and drive crazy. Yes, yes, evidence every day that most people are idiots. But at least I don't think we had a mass shooting. Cool morning and a nice evening last evening, again, and a red sky at sunrise today. What does that mean? Gee, I'd call it a blazing red sky. I'm glad I don't have my shrimp boat out today!

Many will go to church this morning and pray to the LORD to protect their guns. 

Homecoming

 Homecoming weekend in Raider Land and I've never been able to understand what that is all about. Trivial and stupid, isn't it? And what does football have to do with academia? College football just illustrates how seriously defective the quotidian human brain is. Good time to avoid the area around campus, that's for sure. It's one of those stupid, ritual, cultish, tribal things I guess. But you can SMELL the excite-MINTS! The stink of excite-MINTS is in the very air we breathe! Wheeee! Woooo! I'll just take a pass on that. Nice morning! Nice evening last evening, even though temps are above average. That's to be expected. Global warming is real, and human "civilization" is the reason, the cause, of that warming. I have no doubt whatsoever. But on to other topics!

A cursory examination is sufficient to reveal what a shoddy, defective, piece of crap the human body really is. Do NOT talk to me about intelligent design. It's a ticky tacky universe, as far as one can see. 99.999999999% of it, at least, is absolutely lethal to any form of life, and the parts that are hospitable to life are only barely hospitable, and then only for a short time, and always under the threat of sudden annihilation. So feel free to get blind stinking drunk, stuff your face with garbage and enjoy you some of that there football whoop-te-dooo!

A Beautiful Morning

 By any standard, very fine, and last evening was terrific as well. This is shaping up to be a good October. By the way, the advice I'd give any young woman would be to skip all thoughts of family, and focus on career. Marriage is the most masochistic and self-limiting choice that a woman can make. If you can afford it, have your tubes tied. Ignore your parents, ignore all other family members, ignore your church, because none of them have your best interests at heart. Do NOT fall into the hopeless trap of marriage and family. If you must marry, make sure that there will not be children. Selfish? I don't think so. Besides, if it is selfish, isn't selfishness considered a virtue today?  i don't think anyone should be a slave to their instincts. Or a slave to societal norms, or cultural traditions. And make no apologies. 

I suspect that conservative women have a slave mentality. 

Warming Again

 Up and down the temperatures go at this time of year. We got some rain last afternoon, which surprised me. A nice surprise. Great evening last evening. I was out pretty late on the patio enjoying the cool breezes.
