It's Ray Bradbury season. And I like it just fine, though much has changed since I discovered Ray Bradbury. We all live in an ugly dystopia that not even the most hardened science fiction writers could have imagined, except for Philip K. Dick, who got it right on so many levels. We are not yet in ANIMAL FARM or 1984 territory, but we are getting there rather rapidly. In times like these it's good to be old and on the sidelines. Let the "higher apes" do their thing and hope to be safely dead before they completely destroy all that is or ever was good.
Science, art, mathematics-- those things are good. Religion is the dogshit in our path.
