Backing Off From The Triple DIgits

It's not a cooling trend, except that mornings will be in the low seventies F and the daytime highs will only "nudge" triple digits. Planet Earth is being subjected to an extinction event that you can ultimately blame on too many babies. I've never been keen on babies. I've had sense enough not to be responsible for excess babies, so I feel quite pure, and superior, to the mindlessly selfish baby machines running around out there. I seem to have been gifted with an intrinsically "Gnostic" outlook. To paraphrase Bob Dylan, "Everyone must get sterilized". Heh. Heh.

Today we have VERY significant congressional hearings on flying saucers. NOT. It's going to be more like bullshit artists on parade. Although, if there are alien beings from distant stars or even other dimensions floating around, you can be confident that they are complete and total idiots.

Another Record High?

I believe it hit 104 F yesterday. I thought that today it would be not quite so hot, but we started off close to 80.

Another Nice Morning

And it seems that COVID is still out there, with a fast spreading variant that has many concerned. It continues to evolve. Evolution is real, for those too ignorant to know. I continue to hope for a variant that targets the human reproductive system, in men AND women, leaving sterility in its wake. One can hope!

"Cool" Morning

It's 71 F and cloudy right now with an isolated thunderstorm north of us. It would be nice to get a cool outflow when it collapses. Don't think the rain will reach us. It's going to be a relatively hot week but records probably won't be broken. Mornings remain fairly "cool" with temps in the low seventies. August is typically quite hot here. It's already been extremely hot. When will relief come? It's sweltering south of us.

One Day Heat Relief

That's what we've got today-- a reprieve from the relentless heat but it will last only one day. Enjoy it while I can. I did last evening, out on the patio. It feels great this morning. Eventually this heat wave will pass, and then we get to deal with bomb cyclones and sub-zero F wind chills. I hope we have some kind of transition between the two extremes.

Dream on.
