Getting Hotter Again

Another wave of extreme heat that breaks Saturday but before that another record high is possible, even likely. What a summer. I was forced to waste a lot of time this morning with a printer problem. I only wanted to print a letter. Oh, for a simple inkjet, printing black only, NO scanner, NO fax, NO color. SIMPLE! Can't seem to have simple anymore. Can't seem to have anything that isn't crap anymore.

Welcome to the future! You get the very worst of the past with a shitload of wall to wall and floor to ceiling crap, all NEW crap, and none of it works. Except for the very worst of the past. That works very well. Just as lethal, just as toxic as ever.

Very Nice Morning!

We had a couple of showers in succession overnight, and the morning is cooler than it has been in several weeks, with plenty of clouds and a nice breeze, with the air rain-freshened. No doubt, it will be quite hot later, but I'll enjoy the morning.

It's terrific that we've gotten so much rain this spring and summer.

Not So Hot

Starting off much better today with clouds again, northeast wind, and light rain. Yesterday it did not get as hot as forecast because of persistent cloud cover. Anything to get relief from heat. I'd hate to live in the desert Southwest. Arizona, Nevada-- they are baking. Payback for all the fossil fuel consumption, and all the greed. Nature takes no prisoners and has no mercy. And I like that, I guess. The laws of physics are inexorable, inescapable, implacable, and exacting. Attempt to defy them and you pay the price. Ignore them and you could easily die-- just as humanity will die, trapped in the mass extinction event that human beings created by breeding like rats and gobbling resources as though they were infinite, as though greed had no consequences.

Maybe their worthless gods will beam them up. HAHAHA! That's a joke, folks.

Not As Hot Yesterday

But above 100 F, still, as the heat goes on.  The weekend might be more endurable. Amazing the temperature extremes we've had in the past few years, from near zero F in the winter to many days of temps above 100 F in the summer. The worst of both extremes. Heat domes compete with bomb cyclones and polar vortices to make life miserable, or at the very least, uncomfortable. You can burn or you can freeze. Name your poison. You'll get both.

It's nice to see, finally, over-the-counter birth control pills. How about cheap and non-prescription morning-after pills? How about more sense and sanity? How about REAL freedom?? Freedom of conscience? Freedom of choice? How about killing off male domination? Patriarchy? How about freedom FROM religion? How about taking your religion, whatever the hell it happens to be, and shoving it up your ass, where it belongs? Keep it to yourself. Fuck off, in other words.

Record High

110 F was a record high for the date yesterday. It was bad but not the worst, which was 114 sometime in July of 1995. It's a rough July, for sure.

I ordered a small appliance from AMAZON and it appears to be a defective piece of crap. Fortunately, it didn't cost that much. If I can't get the damn thing to work, I'll just charge it off to experience. Screw AMAZON. I don't have time to go through the process of trying to return it and get a refund. From now on, for any such item, I shop locally. The reviews were generally good, but I suspect they were all fake. Made in China. That didn't help. What isn't made in China these days? Buy a Chinese product and I suspect you are aiding and abetting slave labor.
