High Winds

Not much rain but a whole lot of dirt, in the air and in your face and in your lungs. It's the high plains of Texas and that's par for the course at this time of year. I've lived with this crap for so many years I can be almost immune to it. Dry air crackling with static electricity and brown skies. Inhale the crap blowing off the cotton fields, full of herbicide and pesticide residues, I strongly suspect. Atrazine? That would be one of the potential candidates. Oh well.

As usual, a lot of stupid stuff floating around the noosphere as well.

Balloon Invasion

Who would have imagined that? So much for advanced technology. It's strange. Now that mystery balloons are being shot down, what if they contain biochemical agents that rain down upon us when they are damaged? The intercepts would then be releasing--- spores? Potent mind-altering chemical agents? Nanobots? Dispersion would be a problem for passive agents but nanobots could "swim" thorough the atmosphere. I don't think this is likely. It is in fact, far-fetched. In the realm of possibility? But why, and who? More likely pranksters or maybe even a form of psychological warfare. How about that Super Bowl, eh? I'm pleased with the outcome. I didn't watch any of it but I'll bet it was a good game. It would have had great appeal in this neck of the woods, with that Red Raider connection.

Pray for rain! Whatever happened to Uri Geller?

A Small Cylindrical Object?

Microsensors carried by a small lighter-than-air vehicle used for stealthy surveillance? Maybe minimal propulsion via solar powered electric ducted fan? Should have been at a higher altitude. Too easy to intercept at 40,000 feet. At twice that altitude maybe harder to detect, harder to shoot down. Maybe there are sensor limitations. One wonders. Should be nice weather today and tomorrow and rain chances pick up this week. Could use rain. No snow, sleet, or hail, thank you.

Cold This Morning!

But it is warming rapidly. Winter can still throw us a nasty curveball in the form of a "once in a gazillion years" Arctic Bumblast, one of those "generational" events that occur every effing winter, but one can hope for the best. Whatever. My emotional weather is unsettled, to say the least. It's been like that for the last five years. I don't expect that to improve, ever. Such is life.

Another Cold Day

Should be a nice weekend though. Is it going to be SB Sunday? I forgot about that silly ritual. I don't know who's in it and I could not care less. Since I never watch TV anymore it should be easy to ignore it. What a waste of time. To take an interest in such a thing strikes me as pathetic.
