Ohhh, And I Think But I Just Don't Know...

Yes, indeed, and I'm not even sure what it means to say that one knows something. Epistemology has always fascinated me. There ought to be at least a few Quantum Epistemologists running around, don't you "think"?

You could look at it like this: every statement is ultimately self-referential, because it is never more than an indication of some brain state-- a particular brain state in some human brain, and the human brain might not even be reducible to a finite state device. And then where are you?

It's Getting Steadily Cooler

But rain is unlikely for the week. I think we've had enough. Crisp and clear with comfortable highs sound pretty good. Lots of sunshine is always appreciated.

These sunflowers are memories of summer and I've got about 600 to go. After that, I really don't know.

No Freeze

Not cold at all this morning and skies are clear. It looks like the first half of November will be mild and I hope for a much warmer than normal December with little or no precipitation. I remember Januarys years ago that were spring-like, meaning, in this area, dry, warm, and air full of blowing dust. One hardly knows what to expect anymore!

Nice Enough Weather

Yes, it is nice enough. A few things to do today. Aches and pains. Probably overdid the exercise this week.

I don't seem to know my limits or when to quit.

Carrying an iPhone

I really have never liked to carry things. I like my hands free. They don't need to be occupied, but rather, ready for action, for self-defense or whatever. Those so-called smart phones are all too bulky and awkward to handle. I see people carrying them in their hands and I'd hate that. Besides, if I'm going to be waiting around somewhere I'd rather observe my surroundings and the people around me. I like situational awareness. I used to have a writing class with a cop, and he taught me how to be aware of my surroundings and what to look for in other people. Useful. Better than sticking your nose into a "smart" phone. Could save your life.
