It's A Nice Little Norther

Terrific to have a break in the heat! Feels good.

I've had a very healthy diet for a long time, and I feel out of step now, too healthy for someone my age. I'm tempted to switch to fast food and work on a little heart disease. Of course, I won't stop exercising. Is it possible to have heart disease and still be ripped? I need to think about this. When I show my ID I get strange looks. And people don't believe me when I tell them how old I am. That could become a problem.

"Cold" Front On Track

It won't be cold but it'll be a change for the better. And it might even rain. So...

This is some interesting stuff.

Of Nostalgia Have We More

I thought once that I would retrace steps, revisiting old haunts, but that's not going to happen. Too depressing. The best I can do is take a different slant on places we visited in the past. I do acquire more new photos and maybe by the end of the summer I will have them ready for a breathless world. Not that I give a damn about the world outside of my little "half acre". My own tightly circumscribed ambit, that I alone inhabit. And so shall it be, now and forever.

I find it a good and fine thing to be near to the end of life.

Of Nostalgia We Have Much

Of that, at least, there is plenty of. And I still look forward to a change in our weather pattern. It must come someday. Glad to be over the solstice hump and the days will grow shorter. Seasonal change is the only change I welcome, apart from money. Money is always welcome. Money and knowledge. And seasonal change. Yes, those THREE things, but not the Spanish Inquisition.

Life does indeed go on, but why? At least it doesn't go on and on. If it went on and on that would be too much.

Heat Relief?

Hot until Sunday but then heat relief, and maybe even rain chances? Could be. I wonder what happens when Lake Mead finally cannot provide water to the many millions who depend on it. Most of the Colorado River water is used for agriculture. When that source goes...

But let's just focus on Lubbock and the little towns and small cities surrounding Lubbock. The core of MY world is within a radius of only a few miles. Rarely do I, or will I, venture beyond those bounds-- rarely do I HAVE to. Human civilization is a sad, sick, non-sustainable joke.
