Soggy This Morning

Didn't rain yesterday or the day before but that's probably a good thing because most of the areas that did get rain also had severe thunderstorms. Last evening it felt like October outside. This morning it's damp and cool and somewhat windy and it still feels like October. Not bad after all that heat last month.

I've got nothing to do today that is of any urgency. I intend to do a lot of reading.

New Memories

 New memories in pictorial form:

But aren't they really old memories?

I Remember A Time

Yes, I remember a time when life seemed to me to be much better than it is now, or ever can be again in the future. I remember other times that were not so long ago, too. Like these sunflowers, for instance.

A change of weather is in the near future, here, and that will be good. They say, those who are in a position to make forecasts, that it will be much more temperate for a few days, and that more rain will be possible. Memorial Day is done and I'm glad of that. It was a scorcher.

Really Hot

But it's that time of year. This week might see some relief and maybe even a little more rain!

January 2nd it got down to 8 degrees F here, and I'd rather be dealing with the heat than that kind of cold. Covid continues to spread. I'd like to think that's it's modifying human DNA in interesting ways but that's science fiction. Creating the basis for a new and improved humanity-- smarter and less ape-like. Better yet, less dog-like, less like a follow-the-leader pack animal. Less prone to submit to the first charismatic psychopath who happens to wander onto the scene. Less prone to BREED charismatic psychopaths. Dream on.

Yes, A Holiday Weekend

I'm not too keen on holiday weekends, myself, except Labor Day. Labor Day is a good one. The rest I can do without. Change them to something else. This one is going to be a scorcher.

Have you noticed? The PU is not a congenial place for life of any kind. The PU stinks. That should put things in perspective.
