A Holiday Weekend

Some call it "Mumorial Day" but I never see any mums. Maybe they mean moms? And some say "Marmoreal Day" but I have yet to see any marmosets at play, with little tin drums and tiny horns. For lots of Texans it's going to be another fine time to celebrate-- something. I wonder what one SHOULD celebrate. What will Texans celebrate? I don't feel much like YIPPEE, frankly. Make no mistake: many WILL be celebrating. Maybe celebrating their 2nd Amendment rights?? But let's not go down that rathole. Too many rats down there, and a lot of them have rabies.

As usual, my preference is to be where no people are. Too many of them have rabies.

More Wild Weather

But it was exactly what we needed. I'd like to see more of this in July, right around the 4th. Flood it out. Drown it.

Meanwhile, I continue to enjoy these visions of the past. I eagerly await the first Science results from the James Webb telescope.

Wild Weather

Stormy last night, but lots of rain. That was terrific. Been a long time.

Triple digits again by the weekend but that won't last too long. Not bad. Maybe we can get out of the drought and into something more like a rain cycle.

Looking Like Winter

It could be late October here if you didn't know better. Is that weird or not? Bleak, cloudy, gloomy, but maybe it'll rain, significantly, finally. I'm very skeptical. I really don't think so.

We'll see.

Record Highs, Record Lows

A record low temperature for this date, following a string of record highs. The variability of weather in this area seems to have increased. It has always been freaky and variable, but now more. I'm enjoying the cool down. Soon enough triple digits will return. It is good, to have nothing to talk about but the weather! May it be ever thus! Or so. Sometimes I wonder whether I even have a native language. Is it Slobovian? Or Vulgarian? Is it in fact more like Inglish?? I scratch my head and go on. For what else to do is there? Eh? I think the Canadians say "Eh" a lot.

And then there is of course the emotional weather to complicate things. Too much. Strive to keep it simple and eschew the new. ALWAYS eschew the new.
