Nothing fake about the backyard.
Real birds.
This old cat likes to be up high. I even have to feed her on a tin plate I nailed to the top of the fence. But she does come down to drink water.
Santa Land!
Santa's throne, where he sits in judgement. The good children get rich and laugh at the bad children, who die poor and eat hot coals. Ha! Ha! Santa loves ME! He doesn't love YOU! Ha! Ha! Or am I getting this mixed up with something else? A bit confusing here in Santa Land... things are kind of jumbled together, as you will see.
Santa Land. This is traditional.
I roamed around there Sunday morning. There was one cop in the parking lot for some reason and a few Parks and Recreation people doing some stuff inside. But that might be premature-- I'll finish off the backyard and then get back to Santa Land. Land of Fantasy.
Santa Land is all fantasy, but my backyard is real.
I kind of like the way it looks now.
I think I'll finish this off tomorrow and then get back to the Christmas stuff.
Starting out with the wreckage of last summer's garden. Everything dead now.
Except for the birds. I'm still filling feeders with sunflower seeds, and a lot of sunflowers remain as perches.
The sunflowers are dead, of course. I'm feeding some stray cats, and I've found ways to keep the cats from ambushing birds. Last year I cleared out all the dead stuff, but this year I won't. It'll be even wilder in the garden next summer-- more jungle-like than ever. Fencing material can foil the cats and protect the birds. I'm going to have both.
There will still be a lot of work to do in the spring, but I'm looking forward to it. Right now it looks kind of rustic. I like that look. Lots more Lubbock to come. I did Santa Land again, in McKenzie part and lots of other stuff. Lots of pics on the way. I plan to get out with a camera on Christmas day and take a lot of pics. The weather should be good for it and I would not expect much traffic or any people getting in my way.
And this will be the end of that.
I didn't exactly retrace my steps-- wanted to see some different things.
The weather was far better.
I used an alley.
And this is all of New Braunfels 2019.
