More Lubbock Drive-Thru

Important to keep in mind, this is not a drive-by. We have those in certain parts of town, under certain unfortunate circumstances.

We are out by the airport.

We have arrived at the Water Treatment Plant. Security is very high! It looks like a maximum security prison, and it probably feels like one if you work there. I'm glad I don't work there anymore. I served my time.

Driving Around Town

My ever patient wife was kind enough to take me for a little drive around town while I played the part of shutterbug. Random shots. This and that. Lubbock here and there.

If parts of the car get in the way, I really don't care. If something, anything, appears in the photo then I am happy.

These are all commonly seen things, here in Lubbock.

Lots more still to come!

The Big Snow Of 2015

Finally I get around to posting pics I took around our house on the morning after the big snow of 2015. Our lives were disrupted for about a week. Too much snow. For us, any snow is too much snow. We don't like snow. We don't like winter. For a while, in December last year, there was too much winter in these parts.
We continued to feed the birds...

About three feet of snow covered the wildflower garden.

Nobody was going anywhere for a few days... eventually I shoveled our driveway. Fortunately, it warmed up again relatively quickly. But in some places we had mounds of snow for several weeks.

There's Nothing Like Junk

Junk is what we leave behind. Junk is human history. Junk is human achievement.

Take a look at this stuff.

A lot of people worked really hard to create this crap. It served its purpose, I guess.

Rust. In fact, I used to have a teacher named rust-- Mrs Rust. She was mean. She was in the wrong profession. She should have been a prison warden.

The name was spelled RUST but it was pronounced ROOST. In the first grade I had a teacher named Sister Fides. We were all just little kids and we called her Sister Fetus. What did we know?
