Another Batch From New Braunfels

Maybe I actually took TOO MANY photos?

Conditions in Lubbock have not been too bad since we returned. No blowing dirt, mild temps. On the downside, this area has seen some very bad wild fires, especially north of here. Dry. Too dry. Too dry for too long.

Still More From New Braunfels

I could have taken a lot more pics, actually.

Yet More From New Braunfels

I want to get this series done in a reasonable amount of time.

More From New Braunfels

I got a lot of good pics there.

My wife and I are still struggling to get caught up, and get back in our routines. Even a short trip throws your life out of kilter. Neither one of us like to travel. Some people like to get away from their ordinary, daily, lives. We, on the other hand, really enjoy our ordinary lives. We are very, very, comfortable and there is nothing here we wish to escape from.

New Braunfels, Texas

The rest of these new pictures were taken in New Braunfels, Texas. There are a lot, so this will take several days to complete.

The major problems in New Braunfels have to do with tourists, tourist traps, an exploding population, and heat and humidity that makes it almost impossible to live there. After a few days, you start to believe that you are at risk of growing mold. We looked at several older houses for sale and undergoing remodeling, and found wood rot everywhere, not to mention crooked foundations. The entire town smells of rot and decay. On the positive side, we found some of the nicest and most polite drivers you can imagine. We walked safely across a busy street because a guy used his car to block traffic for us! Then again, it might have been a tourist. But we are used to Lubbock, a city in which pedestrians and bicyclists are hated and despised and considered fair game to be run down and maimed or killed.
