Last Of Lubbock 2014 No.2

Downtown, downtown, downtown...

Some of these pics only look their best in their full, native, resolution. But I can't post that here. By the way, there is no abbey downtown. Ha. Ha. Get it? Downtown abbey?

Lubbock 2014 No.2 Set 8-- Downtown

There are plans afoot, to revitalize Lubbock's downtown. It'll take a lot of time and money. A lot has already been invested. I'm doubtful. I can't really see it working.  I don't see any segment of the city's population who would have any interest in living there.

My wife and I have thought about it a lot. Neither one of us believes that there is any hope for this area.

Lubbock 2014 No.2 Set 7

This set finishes a certain location, but after this I switch to downtown. Downtown is always interesting.

Promoting Lubbock

I like to feel that by putting up my photos, I am publicizing this city-- in a sense. If you want a lot of rah rah onward and upward stuff, get it from other sites. I do what I can to memorialize the dark side.

I see no advantage to the use of my camera's manual settings. Auto mode works just fine and saves me a lot of hassle.

Lubbock 2014 No.2 Set 5

Excellent weather yesterday, in that it was warm and not windy. But no rain. Everything is drying up. The long drought goes on, and there is no end in sight. We've had pitiful amounts of moisture this winter. The big story in the future might have nothing to do with Red Raider Sports: LUBBOCK DRYS UP AND BLOWS AWAY! NOBODY CARES! And Lubbock keeps growing, steadily expanding. The city is living on borrowed time.
