Yes, it's time for the heat dome, but it seems not to be centered over us. So, it is not as hot as it COULD be.
In fact, our temperatures are moderating. Not as hot today as it was yesterday. And not as hot tomorrow as it will be today, and so on.
This blog is an ARTISTIC regional photo journal. I focus on mundane scenes. ANY AND ALL STATEMENTS I MAKE HERE ARE MY OPINONS ONLY! I OFFER NOTHING WHATSOEVER AS A STATEMENT OF FACT! The photographs are offered as ARTISTIC EXPRESSION ONLY! They are not representative of anything other than themselves. Most of the places mentioned here have surely changed substantially since they were visited. Check my list of recommended sites at the bottom of this blog!

That big wheel keeps on turning. Good to know that EVERYTHING is temporary. The purity of nothingness, the perfection of non-being, awaits. Existence is temporary and a mere aberration. It will be swallowed up and the nonsense will come to an end, and it will be as though it never happened. Undoubtedly we are living within a freakish temporary anomaly.
About normal for this time of year. We have entered the hottest months. Uproar in Magaworld? The Magas are too damned stupid and too damned brainwashed. In Magaland it's morons from top to bottom. Morons and/or scumbags. Israeli settlers are killing Christians and destroying Christian shrines. Mad dogs, obviously, but who would have expected anything else? Let's face it: it has always been the case that in Jewish eyes, non-Jews are dogs, are garbage. Jesus was on the same page as all the other Jews. It's right in the gospels that nobody bothers to read anymore. Not many people are literate today. Not many people are capable of independent thought today. Most people today are ignorant and lazy. That's a sad fact.
It was an isolated storm but Lubbock was under a "flood advisory" yesterday afternoon. I got about an inch and so did other parts of town. The rain cooled things off nicely and it was still cool this morning. Unfortunately the rain brought a power outage in my neighborhood, due to some idiot who must have ignored weather conditions, lost control of their vehicle, and hit a power pole hard enough to snap it. Jerk. Moron. Now that person is probably in the hospital, if not dead, and might have disabling injuries because it was SO important to get to a destination that was probably non-essential. The vehicle is surely totaled after an impact like that. Darwin award?
We were never in the flood watch area. A light shower was it for us and today it is clear and quite sunny. Mild temperatures will dominate the week, but by the end of the week it will be very hot, probably in advance of another system of some sort. And so it goes.
It started pretty early today and it's been light but fairly steady. Hard to say how much more we'll get, with thunderstorms possible but coverage spotty. I'm more concerned for parts of the state that were inundated earlier, and they surely do not need more. If there is a deluge let it be in places that have not yet received much rain. But of course, where it rains and how much it rains, is purely a matter of physical law mostly pertaining to fluid dynamics-- and those equations are hard to solve. The processes are deterministic nevertheless. Morons can attack weather radar as much as they like, and they only demonstrate that they, and the people who think like them, need to be on heavy doses of antipsychotic meds, and perhaps lobotomized as well. It might be wise to bring back the old-fashioned insane asylums for such folks.
It was very pleasant outside last evening and cloudy and cool this morning. Change is in the air, and tomorrow is likely to bring more rain. It could be a wet week next week with below normal temps. Sounds good to me.
Today and tomorrow, quite hot but no records set. Saturday a big change is still in the forecast, with a week of below average temps and rain chances, actually storm chances, increasing. It could be a very wet week next week. So I'd better do whatever I need to do outside, what little remains, before that change. Yesterday I did the last major job so what's left is detail work but I need dry conditions. Death toll in the recent floods down south will probably exceed 300, and the FEMA response so far has been inadequate, to say the least and that is no surprise given that a MAGA moron is running that agency, and it's been decimated in other ways. That's what happens when shit floats to the top. In MAGA world, it's ALL shit, top to bottom.
